GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1) is a bioactive copper peptide widely used in advanced cosmetic formulations designed to support the appearance of healthier, more resilient skin. This naturally occurring peptide complex consists of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (GHK) bound to a copper ion, forming a stable copper peptide complex known as Copper Tripeptide-1.
Copper peptides are well known in cosmetic science for their role in supporting skin conditioning and improving the appearance of skin firmness, smoothness, and overall vitality. GHK-Cu has been extensively studied for its ability to help support skin renewal processes and improve the visible appearance of aging skin.
In cosmetic formulations, GHK-Cu is commonly incorporated into serums, creams, and advanced treatment products designed to promote a more youthful, revitalized complexion. It is also widely used in scalp and hair care formulations to support follicle conditioning and maintain the appearance of fuller, healthier hair..
This ready-to-use liquid active provides a stabilized solution of Copper Tripeptide-1 in a cosmetic preservative system that integrates easily into a wide variety of formulations.
INCI
Water (and) Copper Tripeptide-1 (and) Propanediol (and) Phenoxyethanol (and) Ethylhexylglycerin
CAS Number
Copper Tripeptide-1: 49557-75-7
Formulation Guidelines
GHK-Cu Liquid Active is water soluble and should be incorporated into the water phase or cool-down phase of cosmetic formulations.
Copper peptides are sensitive to excessive heat and strong acids. For best stability, add this ingredient during the cool-down phase below 40°C.
GHK-Cu performs well in formulations containing humectants, peptides, botanical extracts, and other skin-conditioning ingredients commonly used in advanced skincare systems.
Avoid combining with highly acidic formulations (low pH) or strong oxidizing agents which may destabilize the peptide complex.
Suggested Use Rate
1 – 10%
(This provides approximately 0.03 – 0.3% active Copper Tripeptide-1 depending on formulation.)
